Want to make your WordPress site multilingual effortlessly? Linguise is a a new kind of plugin in the field of machine translation solutions and it's probably the most attractive alternative to traditional translation solutions like WPML or TranslatePress, at an unbeatable price. Whether you run a blog, a WooCommerce store, or a business site, Linguise can make your content accessible to a global audience in minutes. Check out my review in this article.
What is Linguise?
Linguise is a multilingual WordPress plugin based on artificial intelligence (AI) machine translation technology, in line with what has been done since the advent of AI. Launched in 2020, it uses advanced algorithms to deliver accurate and fast translations. Unlike some plugins like WPML or Polylang, Linguise works via a cloud service, which reduces the impact on your site's performance, like Weglot, which I told you about in this articleIt is compatible with WooCommerce, page builders (Divi, Elementor), and SEO plugins like Yoast or RankMath.

Linguise Free Features (1 Month Trial)
Linguise offers a one month free trial without credit card, ideal for testing your abilities. Here's what you get:
-
Instant machine translation : Translate your entire site (pages, articles, menus, widgets) into more than 80 languages.
-
Front-end visual editor : Edit translations directly from your site's public interface.
-
Language selector : Add a customizable language switch.
-
Basic SEO : Automatic translation of metadata and support for hreflang tags for multilingual SEO.
-
WooCommerce Compatibility : Translate products, descriptions, and payment pages.
-
No impact on speed : The cloud system avoids overloading your database. As I explained in my comparison of translation extensions for WordPress, there are roughly two translation systems: the first which stores all translations in your database, which allows you to keep control but makes your site heavier, and the second system which allows you to outsource everything, simpler, faster and more flexible, if storing your data with a third party does not pose a problem for you.
Limitation The free trial is limited to 600,000 translated words—the same as the paid "Pro" plan—and expires after one month. However, it allows you to translate your site into an unlimited number of languages, with a threshold of 600,000 words, which is a significant bonus to test its power and its potential to improve your audience.
Linguise Paid Features
Paid plans (starting at 15 $/month) offer advanced features for professional multilingual websites. Here are the main features of the “Start” plan:

-
Live Editor : Correct translations manually with an intuitive visual editor.

How do I know my needs in terms of translated words?
When choosing a translation plugin like Linguise, it is essential to carefully estimate the number of words to be translated to select the appropriate package. However, most people make a mistake in their estimation and end up underestimating their needs.
In fact, the "number of words translated" generally corresponds to the source words (the original content of your site) multiplied by the number of target languages (excluding the original language).
For example, a site with 10,000 source words translated into 3 target languages will generate 30,000 translated words. To assess your needs, count the words in one of your articles and one page and make an extrapolation.
For example, if your site contains 50 articles of 600 words each and 20 pages of 400 words, or 38,000 source words, and you target 4 languages, you will have 152,000 words translated, which also encourages you to be concise and concise from now on in the articles you publish 🙂
Compare this total to plan limits (e.g., 200,000 words for 15$/month at Linguise) to avoid overruns and optimize your costs.
Conclusion: Linguise, a Powerful Solution for a Multilingual Site
Linguise is an excellent choice for quickly and efficiently making your WordPress site multilingual. Its one-month free trial lets you test its high-quality machine translations, while paid plans offer advanced SEO tools and team management at an unbeatable price. With its cloud-based system, visual editor, and extensive compatibility, Linguise stands out from translation plugins like TranslatePress and is comparable to an extension like Weglot, except that Linguise is less expensive at the time of writing.
